<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>I rarely wear t-shirts. This is mostly because I usually wear dresses anyways and tops are not necessary then - aside from sweaters that you can wear over dresses in colder months. Furthermore it always appeared to me that I looked too bulky in t-shirts. Ever since I went to Pull&Bear in Dubai, I fell in love with their shirts. The cut is simply perfect: Not too tight and definitely long enough. While I was there, it was Sale time and so I could've bought every single shirt but I held myself back and bought just two. The Ramones shirt is by far my favourite, especially when I wear them with bodycon skirts. I even love this shirt with black pants, although the jeans and t-shirt combination has always been my biggest problem. I was always skeptical with that look - on myself. On others it looked flawless and casual and whenever I tried to recreate this look, it was horrible. Therefore I am super happy to have finally found THAT shirt and I hope it will survive a long time.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div>
<i>A long time ago, there was a girl that had a blog and posted things on it. Then she got sucked into adult life and was busier than ever. This girl was me.</i></div>
<div>
<i>But eventually, the girl found a little time in her busy schedule and that's why there is this post. Hurray! There is a lot of stuff going on in my life right now but I am glad to announce that I am finally done with moving and that I established a daily routine here in Northern Germany real quick. Furthermore I scored a job at a fashion store within the first week of being here and I can honestly say that I love working there. Retail is never an easy job but I have great colleagues and the store is within a little mall so that I can wander around (or go to the Food Court) during my break. Since it is just a student job, I don't make a lot of money but luckily I am making Euros which pays for all our bills that are in Euro, so that we can use my husband's money for everything else and it won't affect our finances much. Currently, we are saving up for a nice vacation when he gets back from Afghanistan. Yes, the deployment has started and let me tell you: Even though I am busy every day, time seems to just stop. The first month is not even over and it feels like he has been gone for a year already. Right now, I am preparing his first care package, so that the guy has a few awesome things while sitting in an Afghan valley.</i></div>

<i><a href="http://paws-and-bisous.blogspot.de/2013/07/the-dubai-series-day-1-dubai-mall.html" target="_blank">To read about Day 1, click here</a></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>The second day in Dubai started with a few business meetings, therefore the morning hours went by quite fast. However, one of the company's bosses gave us his driver for the day so we could go and do a little more sightseeing without having to use taxis all the time. I decided that I wanted to see the famous Burj Al Arab (Tower of the Arabs) which is one of the most luxurious and expensive hotels in the world and also the 4th highest hotel in the world.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Unfortunately they changed the rules for going inside the hotel, you have to have at least a reservation for the restaurant in there. We tried to get one for that exact day but they told us that you have to call at least a day in advance. I didn't really need to see the hotel from the inside, so the driver drove us to Jumeirah Beach where I got a perfect view of this iconic building. The only downside of this experience: I didn't plan ahead and still wore my high heels that I wore to the business meetings before. Have you ever been at the beach in high heels? I definitely do not recommend it. That being said, I teetered through the sand, managed to jump up and down a little wall and all that without breaking my legs.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>After staying at this beach for a little while, I went back to the hotel. Even though it was quite close, it took us a little while because traffic in Dubai is insane. But I won't complain since I didn't have to drive and I could snap a few photos on the way. We also passed a water park called Wild Wadi and it looked so much fun! If I had more time in Dubai, I would've definitely went. Maybe there is a next time.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>The rest of the day, I decided to relax a little bit at the beach and the pool but before heading out again, I wanted to have a small meal. And since the portions there were pretty huge (not American huge but European huge), I ordered two kid's meals. They were the perfect size and I even got everything with kid's plates and silverware. I still have to giggle about it when I think back.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Then it was time for relaxation. What I loved about the hotel was, that they give you towels and sun lounger covers with a pillow. Furthermore, they give you cold bottled water whenever you want or you can ask for a refrigerated container where you can store some bottles. The ocean water was amazingly warm, like a bath tub. I enjoyed just floating around and forget all the stress that I had and that is coming up.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>It was the most perfect afternoon in a long time.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Soon my fall semester will start and that means: Back to School Shopping! I just love buying little bits and pieces for college and pretend to be organised. And let's be honest, it is so much easier to study when you have pretty accessories, isn't it? At least I think so. I prefer to wrote my notes in a colourful book instead of that plain college notepad. College notepads are even a bit dangerous for me because I am so not organised with them. I have to search paper X for hours, a bunch of other papers are half loose already and about to fall out and working sheets are just laying in there. Now, during my college time it isn't as bad but when I think back to high school... oh my.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>The hardest decision is always which pencil case I am going to buy. It's even a wee bit stressful for me since I have to commit to it for a longer period of time and therefore it has to be THE perfect pencil case. To common knowledge, there is no thing such as perfect and so, I look around and compare and in the end, I buy a few pencil cases to swap them out during the semester.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>How do you do your back to school shopping? Do you even like to buy new things for your studies? If you have your own back to school wishlist on your blog, feel free to give me the link ♥</i><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Finally I am done editing most of the photos! That means I am able to write my posts about Dubai and show you guys what I experienced. There will be one special thing about "The Dubai Series": All text will be in English, otherwise it would just be too much text.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Dubai is known for its shopping opportunities and it is home of the biggest mall in the world: The Dubai Mall. It has 1,200 stores - ranging from luxury to every day, you and me shops, an aquarium with an underwater zoo, an ice rink, a theme park and of course a movie theatre. I am not really a fan of such huge malls simply because I always manage to get lost in them. For that reason, my first stop was the aquarium. I have been to aquariums before but this one was the first time that I was able to walk through the tunnel section. It was a wee bit scary because my overly active imagination always had that picture of broken glass and me getting eaten by sharks - but as you can see, I am alive. After the tunnel, you had to go up two levels to get to the underwater zoo. Up there, they had a bunch of tropical, colorful fish, crabs and crocodiles. My favourite were the jellyfish that changed their colours every now and then.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>After the aquarium, I went to the waterfall inside the mall. It is an art installation that reaches from the top of the mall all the way down to the ground level. An amazing sight and I am so sad that my pictures didn't really catch its beauty. Another beautiful part was the Denim District: A little village inside the mall only for shops that sell denim, like Levi's or Pepe Jeans London. It really looked like a small Arabian village and I especially liked the light colours. After the Denim District, I visited The Souk. Souks are open air market places, kind of like bazaars, just this one was inside the mall. It was the more traditional part and I enjoyed strolling through the stores and finally got to see some real Arabian clothing and jewellery pieces. I mentioned it before: When I travel, I want to see things of the nation's culture and not something I have right around the corner in my town at home. And let me tell you, Arabians know how to design jewellery! I am already a huge fan of Israeli gold pieces and a visit to the gold souk took my breath away. Twice. Once when I saw beautiful pieces and then when I discovered the price and converted it. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>When you leave The Souk and go outside, you get to the Dubai Fountains and the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world). Honestly, the Burj Khalifa doesn't look that tall because it is quite "skinny" but I am sure once you get to the top, you will realise how tall that building is (especially if you're like me and afraid of heights). I did not go to the top because I did not want to pay a fortune. Furthermore the humidity was very high all the time and because of that, the air always seemed really foggy so you could not see far anyway. So a look from the outside and the ground was good enough for me. Next to this area they have another small shopping centre called "Souk Al Bahar" where they sell more traditional but also a lot of touristy stuff. It is worth a visit because the architecture is gorgeous! At the entrance they also have a throne but unfortunately I didn't catch details about it and I could not find information about it online either. But yes, there is a throne.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Since I still had enough time until the fountain show started, I decided to do a little shopping and eating. They had bazillions of food places and restaurants there, it was hard to decide. It ranged from the typical American restaurants (iHop, Red Lobster, Rainforest Cafe, Cheesecake Factory up to Texas Roadhouse which made me feel like I was back in Texas) to a few Chinese and Italian places to restaurants for vegetarians. I decided to try something new but not too exotic and ended up at The Noddle Company. After stuffing my face with the most delicious Lo-Mein and Chicken Satay, I explored some stores until it was time for the fountain show. And let me tell you, I imagined it to be quite boring - "It's just moving water" - but boy, was I wrong! They chose the perfect music so that it made the whole fountain show quite dramatic. I loved it! The fountain shows start at 18:00 o'clock and from them on, they're every hour and every time with a different music. If you ever visit the Dubai Mall, be sure to check it out.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>As you can see there is so much to do in that mall, I really spent my entire first day there. Also, I got a lot of questions about the clothing guidelines there. Even though there are signs at the door stating that you should wear respectful clothing (knees and shoulders covered), a lot of tourists did not care. I saw hot pants, tube tops, short dresses and all you can imagine. However, I would not encourage to do this. While they didn't get taken aside by the security (except one but you could really see her butt fall out of her shorts), you will get looks from the locals. I wore a maxi skirt and a tank top and didn't get any looks at all. I even got a few smiles from local women. It is all about respect: Cover yourself and you won't have any problems and locals will be so much more friendly to you.</i><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>

<i>When I travel, I don't really want to go shopping. Nowadays, it is so easy to buy everything online and therefore I only go shopping when I am done sightseeing and don't want to relax on the beach or pool. Our bank account is very happy about my thinking. In Dubai, they really had all the stores you can find worldwide, except for the traditional Arabic stores with dresses or this that; the actual tourist attraction is the Dubai Mall itself. But I'll get to that in a separate post since I spent an entire day there and only went shopping for an hour while I had some time to kill until the fountain show started. During that time, three of the four things became mine. Summer Sale was already thriving and the conversion from Dirham to US-Dollar (since our bank account is, even in Germany, in Dollar) was super easy, at least when I remembered to bring and charge my phone. When I'm abroad, I show no interest in the usual stores like H&M, Forever 21, Bershka, Stradivarius, Victoria's Secret (I can't stand this store anyways) and so on and so forth. However, I am relatively spoiled because of our Army APO address because the shipping costs are so much cheaper when I order from US Onlineshops. Therefore I only went to stores that I didn't pay a lot of attention to in the past. One of those stores was Pull & Bear. I remembered that store from the time when I was living in Spain and sometimes went shopping there. Surprisingly, I hit the jackpot real fast: Band-/Musician shirts. I'm still sad about my old bandshirts but since I lost a lot of weight, they didn't look good on me anymore. I also bought one for Dustin, I can't come home empty handed for that poor guy.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>On my last day in Dubai, we went to the Dubai Festival City to grab a quick lunch and since I had more than enough time, I went to the mall there. I wasn't planning on buying anything there until that nifty, little Sal y Limon stand popped into my sight. I do have Sal Y Limon stores quite nearby, in Nuremberg and Erlangen but when they place the stand directly in front of you, you are allowed to look. And buy. And because I really needed/wanted a black-gold bangle, I took one with me.</i></div>

It's really important to dress according to the dress code at the mall. tank tops are okay though, tube tops are not.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Do you know this phenomena, where you come home from your vacation and your whole stay seems more like a dream than reality? That's always the case when I get home from a trip. It seems like you've never really been gone. I came home over a week ago and I was thrown back into my normal daily life the day I got home. Dustin picked me up at the airport in Munich in the early morning and a few hours later, we attended a 4th of July BBQ. At that time, I was awake and on the go for over 24 hours which was a brilliant reason to leave the BBQ a bit early.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Since then, I had to go on campus a few times and among other things, I had to take a test to show that I am able to speak English. Additionally, we are preparing for the upcoming deployment and the attempt to make the most out of the time we still have together. And of course I am editing the photos of my Dubai trip. The problem is that I took pictures like a maniac (over 250 photos within 4 days) and therefore it takes a little bit of time to edit everything - I'm not even done with the photos of the first day. However, I really want to show you some impressions and so I decided to publish my Instagram-photos on my blog (some of you have seen them already). Have fun looking at these little collages and I promise that I'll sit down and at least finish editing the photos of the first day!</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<i>In 4 days I'll be on the plane towards Dubai. Und until yesterday, I had the worst clothing crisis in history. However, it is solved now and I have another crisis: Where the hell is my camera battery charger? I came to the conclusion that I must've forgotten it in Texas - maybe in the house, maybe in the hotel room in Dallas. I really hope I can find a new charger at the PX. The following pictures were made with my iPhone since my battery crapped out right after I turned on my camera.</i></div>
<div>
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
<i>Yesterday, I have been to Nuremberg, more or less continuing my search for maxi skirts. In case I couldn't find any, I thought: "Oh well, just wear jeggings then. Doesn't matter". But my rescue from a heat stroke showed up about 15min after walking around: No Name Shops. And these shops hat stands outside with loads of maxi skirts in different colours. And really, really cheap as well. That's why I took two with me: One in a neutral nude and the other one in an orangy-red. I can match both skirts with white or black tops and so, I am fully prepared.</i></div>
<div>
<i>In another No Name store, I found the wedges. I already own a few of them but they're all closed and not sandal-style. And with that nifty gold application, I can give my black pants a noble touch whenever I go out in the evening.</i></div>
<div>
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
<i>Do you shop often at No Name stores? Or don't you recognise them - since they're all kind of hidden between the big name brand stores.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>It is going to be a bit nostalgic today. And I am going to need your help or ideas but I'll come to that later.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Followers who read my (old) blog a little longer experienced how Dustin and I had our homecoming after a year long deployment last year. It still feels like it was only a couple of months ago, time is flying by so quickly.</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Yesterday he came home with the news that it's separation time again. I'm still not sure how I should feel about it. On the one hand, I am happy because we will be away from our horrible neighbours and we get to save up a bunch of money again; on the other hand there are always these thoughts: 'What if something happens? Is he okay?'. Unfortunately I can't stay with my mom for the entire deployment but only for 3 months. Then the new semester on my new university starts and I have to physically be there on campus. However, 3 months with my mom is better than being alone for the entire time (which will probably be 9 months), am I right? And I already have a little routine from last time as well.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Now, I am starting to collect little bits and pieces to keep myself busy during that time and I would like your help:</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Do you know great DIY pages, pinterest boards or even magazines? Any inner-German travel tips (preferably dog-friendly but that's not a must)? Or even tips for neighbour countries?</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mein Flug geht am 30. Juni und ich komme am 4. Juli wieder zurueck.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>This WIWW-post has a special background story. Yes, summer is coming. Yes, a lot of people go on vacation. And I am one of those people who sit in a plane (or car) and afterwards relax a few days and explore the new country and culture.</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>This time, it's something absolutely new for me. I am going to Dubai. It is pretty spontaneous and not very long (only for 4 days) but I see it as a "mini- vacation". Now, I've already been to Morocco and Israel but that's about as Arabic as I went. Except if you count Turkey to it - then I can add this as well. But actually staying on the Arabian peninsula - that's a first. And therefore I am very nervous about clothing because I don't want to aggravate or even insult people with it. On the internet, I read that everything is fine as long as it is at least knee-length and that you can cover you shoulders if necessary. Fortunately, Dubai is already pretty "Western", however I do not want to stand out as the typical Westener.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>My flight leaves on June 30th and I will be back on July 4th - just in time for Independence Day. I am pretty sure that we will be invited to a BBQ in the evening - as usual. I start my journey in Frankfurt but I will arrive in Munich which saves time on my way back home, so that I have enough time to shower, relax and get ready again for the BBQ. Unfortunately there were no reasonable priced direct flights so that I will have two (very short) layovers in Qatar. It would have been easier to just fly directly to Abu Dhabi and then take the bus and ride about an hour to Dubai but my dad and Dustin aren't very happy with the idea of me running around alone in the Arabic world. I personally am certain that I'm capable of doing so but I guess I will do the guys in the family a favour. My hotel will be the Fairmont The Palm - I haven't done much research on it except for the fact that they have free Wi-Fi.</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Have you already been to Dubai and can help me out with clothing tips? Does anyone know if it would be okay to wear skirts/dresses that go to your thigh and then wear tights with it?</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://imageshack.us/a/img607/7315/96324415.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">(I would wear this to explore the city and do all the typical touristy stuff - the scarf is ideal to cover the shoulders in case you have to)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<span style="font-size: xx-small;">(I found this gorgeous set on <a href="http://www.polyvore.com/dubai/set?id=78613524" target="_blank">Polyvore</a>. This would be something I'd wear to go to the mall)</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Even though it's spring, I find myself wearing more and more autumn colours - it fits the permanent rainy weather. On the other hand, I prefer darker colours on myself more anyways. Pastel colours just look a lot better on blonde and pale girls. I mean, I can work on my paleness here in Germany - I just think it looks prettier. Since I am half-Brazilian, I have a natural tan going on (while Dustin resembles a glow stick in the dark with him being extremely pale - Finnish genes) and therefore, I will probably never get nice pale skin. But okay, I won't complain, I bet I wouldn't look very healthy without any tan anyways.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>As usual, I am wearing a skirt. When I was younger, I despised skirts and dresses; I was kind of a wannabe-skater girl. I changed completely and I don't only think that dresses and skirts are prettier but also so much more comfortable. And girly. And just so much more "me". However, next weekend I have to wear pants or at least shorts because we go to a rock festival called "Rock im Park" in Nuernberg. Dustin and I want to see Five Finger Death Punch and only buy tickets for that one day. It would be so much more expensive and not very logical to buy the three day tickets because the bands that I want to see aren't that many and unfortunately, the organizers aren't nice enough to fulfill my wish and let them play at the same day.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>My camera is still being stupid when I do inside shots and has terrible quality. If anyone has tipps on how I can change that - I'd appreciate it so so much!</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Long time no see but I am still alive. Our furniture arrived, our car arrived - the only thing missing is summer. That's what I am missing here in the Upper Palatinate. However, we spent the past week in Oldenburg and I could get some sun and some warm weather - even though I am still freezing at 25 Celsius, that's probably still what's left in my system from Texas. Every time I am in Oldenburg, I have to visit the Waterfront in Bremen and get some things at Primark, especially now that they have a home department so that I can buy towels and other small things (that I don't really need but definitely want). Our apartment will slowly be complete even though the movers from Killeen stole a few things from us.</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Since I have to wait for summer, I bought a few light sweaters - I never really had them in Texas. My mum gave me a few of her old clothes too and now, I have a whole bunch of new things. Time to find a good closet.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>And to get my doggies. They will finally arrive here next Friday (or they leave the US on Friday and will most likely arrive on Saturday morning) because the airport in Oklahoma City is open again after that devastating tornado.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Today there's nothing about Fashion and nothing about Beauty and/or Lifestyle. Well, maybe a tiny bit Lifestyle.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Last weekend, we went to Nuremberg again to buy some small bits and pieces like bowls and beds for the boys when they finally arrive here soon. And a new cage/house for Coco when she gets here. Our destination was all pet stores "Fressnapf" between Vilseck and Nuremberg and we didn't have to look too much: The store in Nuremberg was brilliantly huge! At home in Oldenburg, we have two smaller "Fressnapf" locations so I was in love with this one. And they sell not only accessories and nifty pet things but also live pets (which they don't do in Oldenburg). We immediately went to the small animals-department; I could watch them all day long, even if they just sleep. Give me something fuzzy and furry and cute and I'm busy for the next few hours. In the US, they never really allowed small pets like bunnies in apartments or rent-houses. Now that we live in Germany and won't have to hide Coco when the rental people stop by, we decided to get her a play buddy. And so, a small, cuddly bunnybaby came into our family. He looks a bit like Nigel Thornberry (does anyone remember that show?) with his spots around his eyes and his nose. In the beginning, we wanted to name him Herbert but he just doesn't look like a Herbert. After a few hours of discussing and thinking, we decided to name him Rupert (I said he was a bit of a ginger and my husband said we could name him Ron... but Ron didn't really fit so we agreed on Rupert). He already got comfortable around us and explores his new home every day and next week, his roommates will arrive here. I can't wait!</i><br />

Umzuege bedeuten Stress. Nun hiess es also Abhilfe schaffen.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Moving means stress. And I'm one of those unlucky girls whose skin reacts extremely sensitive to stress. Long story short: Skin wise, I turn into a teenager who hit the peak of puberty and whose hormones are going crazy. Furthermore, two years ago I trusted the positive reviews for Proactiv and completely ruined my skin with it. Since I used Proactiv, my skin got drier and drier and eventually produced so much oil that I was shiny all day long, no matter what powder with matte effect I used. Had I read the ingredients before I used Proactiv, I should've known. But you're always wiser afterwards. Now I had to find something to rescue my skin. The more we were stuck in our moving stress, the more trouble I had with my skin and the fact that we could only eat Fast Food for almost 4 weeks (due to the fact that we had no kitchen) wasn't helping at all. I can't tell you how many cleansing systems I tested - nothing worked. Even Burt's Bees (my all time favourite when it comes to lip balms) failed on my skin. And then I went to Lush in Oklahoma City at the Penn Square Mall. Lush has always been "the soap shop" for me and a few years ago, I went to their store in Oldenburg and only found their bath bombs. This time it was different: I was greeted immediately by a lovely employee who listened to my sorrows and problems and placed me on a little chair so that I could try all the products while he gave me information and advice about everything. In the end, I opted for the cleanser Dark Angels (not the soap bar though, I can't stand the squeaky feeling afterwards), the toner Tea Tree Water. As an addition, they gave me a little sample sized pot of the Vanishing Cream for free because I loved the product but they only had the biggest sized pot in store and there was no room for the tiniest things in our suitcases anymore.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Now, 4 weeks have passed and my skin is pretty much back to normal. Every morning, I washed my face with normal soap, sprayed the Tea Tree Water on it, let it dry and then moisturized my face with the Vanishing Cream (which smells really amazing like lavender). In the evening, I washed my face with soap, used Dark Angels and afterwards the Tea Tree Water and the Vanishing Cream again. The only negative thing that I have to say (which isn't really that negative) is, that when you use Dark Angels, it gets very messy. Not only my face and hands are black (which leads to wondering/amused looks from my husband) but also the sink/the shower is sprinkled with tiny black spots. It cleans off very easily though.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Overall, I definitely recommend these products, especially for people like me who suffer from blemishes and sensitive/oily skin.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Finally a new post. With something new: This is my first post from Germany! We still don't really have internet - right now we are using this nifty little to go USB-stick from t-mobile - but this stick will do for now. I have so much to tell that I don't even know where to start... we have an apartment now. It's not amazing or drop dead gorgeous but it's acceptable. It basically comes down to what you make out of it, right? Two days ago, we got our "rental furniture" from the Army and I immediately put most of the things into our basement and the spare bedroom because these items were so horribly ugly. We kept the sofa from the 60s/70s, a little side table from the barracks rooms and a grandma-style dining room table with chairs in the actual living area. I definitely want to get a cover for the sofa so that visitors (but mostly me) don't have to see this thing since our sofa will arrive, together with all our other stuff, in June. A long, long list with decorations and furniture that we need was already created, the problem is that we still don't have a car (which will arrive at the end of May - if the ship doesn't sink hahah) and we don't want to pay for a rental car all the time. Now I'm looking up delivery fees and for the smaller things, we will just use public transportation.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Yesterday I went to a job fair and had little success. I had 6 favourites: One of them wasn't even on the fair, three only hired US citizens and/or people who could start working in the US right away; but one company told me they have jobs for Green Card holders on their website and another one took my resume. Both of them are national security companies/weapons developing companies and they would go great together with my bachelors degree on my resume later on. At least I can say that the reasons that got me turned down by the other companies weren't because I suck but because of things I can't have influence in (at least not for the next 2 1/2 years). However, every single company was impressed by my skills (especially foreign language wise), my experience with working abroad in several countries and my university major. I guess you can say that this job fair kind of was a success.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Our boys and our little bunny girl in Oklahoma are getting ready for their journey overseas now too. McPlushy needed a new microchip because his was only valid for the US, Yuri needed one renewal of his vaccinations and Coco's turn is next week. So, overall the three should arrive here in mid-May the latest. I really can't wait!</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>And sorry for the horrible picture quality, our internet isn't the fastest und loads/saves pictures in this weird blurry format u_u</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Zwischendurch koennt ihr dann immer Kleinigkeiten ueber <a href="https://www.facebook.com/PawsAndBisous" target="_blank">Facebook</a> und <a href="http://instagram.com/whoaisa" target="_blank">Instagram</a> (@whoaisa) miterleben.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Don't worry, it won't be a complete or long break. But tomorrow is our last day here at Ft Hood and I don't know when I'll have internet access again (and mobile blogging isn't very practical for long texts and HTML coding), therefore I am going on a little hiatus. On Sunday, we will leave for Oklahoma to be with the in-laws for a bit and on Thursday evening, we will drive to Dallas. On Friday, we leave our car at the car shipping company and since our flight leaves on Tuesday morning, we will just stay in Dallas close to the airport for that time.</i></div>
<i></i><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><i>Our home is all packed up, except for a few little things that go into our suitcases and our furniture is already on the way to Germany. This means we are sitting in an empty house and sleep on an air mattress. My old bones aren't too happy about it but hey, gotta play along when it means that I will be home soon. I already found 3 job postings that I will apply for as soon as we arrive in Vilseck. If I can already score one of these jobs, we will have a perfect start for our new life.</i></i></div>
<i>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>In the meantime you can still follow me on my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/PawsAndBisous" target="_blank">Facebook page</a> and <a href="http://instagram.com/whoaisa" target="_blank">Instagram </a>(@whoaisa) where I will post little updates.</i><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<i>I have so many photos in my folders that I can't use for a blogpost nor do I want to ignore them or even delete them. That's why I want to show you some "just because"-photos from time to time. It's sort of like an "my Instagram week" post, just without the Instagram pictures.</i></div>

Huch, zwei Outfitposts hintereinander?
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Oh, two outfits in a row? That's something completely new. Since I am on the go a lot lately, it is the perfect opportunity for outfit photos. However, the weather didn't like me today and it was gray and windy - you can't have everything you want.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>This shirt is one of my favourite clothing pieces. It's casual and very comfortable. And it's also not mine. Which isn't a big problem, my husband and I share his shirts but this shirt is also his favourite shirt and that way, we have to fight over it like 'Who gets it first, wins'. I gave it to him last year for our anniversary because he's originally from Arizona and likes the Cardinals. From what I have observed, they pretty much suck but I guess it's one of those "home pride phenomena".</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Tonight, we are leaving for San Antonio because I will have my immigration interview on Friday morning and we thought it's better to stay the night instead of getting up at 5am only to beat Austin traffic and get to the office on time. We are still thinking whether we take the boys with us or book them a place in the doggy hotel with a nice grooming experience (doggie spa!). At the same time, I can practice how it will be to travel without dogs.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Do you also wear your boyfriend's/husband's or even dad's (I did that in the past but his shirts were always WAY too big) clothes?</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also: <a href="http://ask.fm/pawsxbisous" target="_blank"><b>Statt auf Formspring koennt ihr mir nun auf ask.fm (anonym) Fragen stellen.</b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>We finally have a date to leave here: We leave on the 8th of April and land in the early morning of the 9th on Rammstein Air Force base. However, all places for pets were already booked (there are only 5 per plane), so that we have to send our lovely furries with a cargo company (oh god, that sounds so horrible). If everything works how we planned it, they will join us on April 12th. A lot of people told me it's better that way because there is a possibility that they would be stuck in their transport boxes for over 20 hours and I really don't want them to go through that. Now I have to calm down, stop worrying and be an adult even though I'll be crying my heart out on the inside. I'm just extremely attached to the boys. But with lots of luck we can have Coco with us in the cabin as a carry on and that would make it a wee bit better for me.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Last Sunday, a little miracle happened to me: I actually found black pants that aren't too short and that were on sale. And all that without even having to drive to H&M in Austin. I just tested my luck and went to WetSeal - a store that's normally not one of my favourite ones. If you're lucky, you can find something pretty but most of the clothes are a bit too ghettofabulous for my liking. On the other hand, pants, shoes and accessories are absolutely okay, even price wise.</i></div>

<i>Also, I have a little Social Media announcement to make. I used ask.fm for a bit now but never said anything about it on this blog. <a href="http://ask.fm/pawsxbisous" target="_blank"><b>So from now on you can ask me questions (anonymously) on my ask.fm page.</b></a></i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also musste alles, was unterhalb der Schulter war weichen. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Two weeks ago, on a Saturday, I was brave enough to go to the hair dresser. It was about time that I had to get rid of my (extremely) damaged ends. And not only a bit but a lot. Since I was colouring and bleaching my hair, I had a total frizz-mess at the end and it just wasn't pretty anymore. And don't even get me started on the attempt to grow out my hair; I had the same length for 3 years - there was no growing at all, only breakage. Everything beneath my shoulder had to go and afterwards, the typical phenomena was there: You just don't feel comfortable and think they cut off so much more than they actually did. That exact phenomena happened to me too. However, I was extremely happy that my hair was as healthy as ever. But the days went by and I felt worse each day. Shoulder length hair simply isn't me. Even though everyone told me that it would look great - I couldn't agree. The solution was simple: clip in extensions and to support the growth Biotin (and patience).</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Now I own 18 inch extensions and am happier than ever. The most important thing was, that they look natural. And these human hair extensions match my natural haircolour perfectly; I stop colouring my hair from now on since I cut off my hair with the goal of healthy hair and hopefully getting the same length as my extensions. Until then it's waiting, a lot of taking care of the hair and crossing fingers.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>These outfit photos were from last night after we went out to Firehouse Subs for dinner (that's why the quality isn't the best, my camera does not approve of darkness and fake light). It shows one of my favourite outfits which I love because it's comfy and casual - especially here in Texas, people stare at you a lot easier than in Germany when you wear something other than jeans/T-shirt or sweatpants. On some days, I just like to back off and wear more casual things.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Habt ihr Outfit-Geheimtips fuers Fliegen?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Only 4 more weeks and the day will be here: The dogs, the bunny and ourselves will board the plane to Germany and start a new chapter in our life. Or continue an old chapter? No, I think this time in Germany, you can file under "new" since it will be the first time I will live in Bavaria (or even stay in Bavaria for longer than 2 days) and also living there with a guy and 3 animals.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Even though I am an experienced frequent flier, my first time boarding a plane was when I was 2 years old and my first flight to the States was when I was around 4 and from then on I flew at least once a year, there;s always this one question that's bothering me: What do I wear? When I fly short distances, it's not that much of a problem but when it comes to flights over 6 hours, I don't just want to look good, I also want comfort. This goes especially for overnight flights which are pretty common going from the States to Europe. With the last few years of back and forth flying - if it was to the US, to Germany or to Colombia to see my dad - I already discovered that lace up shoes and belts are completely impractical, particularly when you have to go through the never-ending security checks (and if it's your lucky day, you have to pass them not only once). Leggings, boots and an oversized shirt have always been my favourites: Hopping out of the boots real quick, walk through the beep machine, hopping back into the boots and done. Saves time and is comfy. But wearing the same things every time you fly? It gets old. And that's why I created a few outfits that I would wear to the upcoming flight (which is also my very first flight together with my husband - so far we always flew away from each other).</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Finally a new blogpost! I'm just really busy the last few weeks. In one and a half months, we will already move to Germany, I had to do our taxes and I'm in contact with a few photographers who would like to do some shootings with me so they can build up their portfolio (and I can work on mine). This month went by so fast; really soon I'll get my husband back from his training and also Valentine's Day is not too far away. I already bought one gift today and they gave me a $50 gift card with it, which I was really, really happy about. Now I just need the "ingredients" for my little DIY gift and I'm all prepared for that day.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Are you celebrating Valentine's Day? Do you already have gifts or ideas for your loved ones?</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>The temperatures here in Texas are definitely spring-like and I'm really stoked. Mid-/Endjanuary and 20C-25C - I'm really going to miss that in Germany. However, I'll get actual autumn and winter and a nice summer, I'd gladly give away spring-like Januarys for that.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ich liebe Pandas. In allen Formen.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>I love pandas. In every form. "Normal" pandas and red pandas. When we went to the zoo in San Diego, I almost could not leave the sight of those fuzzy, cute animals. If I could have it my way, I'd have a litte, red panda at home. And because of that, I was really happy when I discovered this cute little sweater underneath the Christmas tree.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Our move is slowly getting into details. Right now I'm busy to convince the US Army that it makes a lot of sense to drop our car off at the shipping place in Dallas on the day before our flight to Germany. We would then spend the night at a hotel and take a cab or the shuttle to the airport, that way we'd save a drive and a rental car. However, I'm not quite sure if they think my idea is as brilliant as I think or if they want to go ahead and ship our car in mid-March and let us vegetate here for the rest of that month without a car.</i></div>
<i></i><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><i>From Sunday on, I will be alone again for a bit over a month, my dearest husband was ordered to California to train some people over there and in that time I deal with the weight that I gained over the holidays. I kind of doubt that a bit over 30 days will be enough time to get in shape but it's worth a try and it's definitely a start. My workout buddy will be Jillian Michaels with her "30 Day Shred" program and one or another exercise off of Blogilates. I'm curious for the/a result and I will most likely blog/whine about my progress.</i></i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Die eigentlichen grossen Nachrichten erreichten mich am 11. Dezember.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>With the end of this semester, I thought everything gets more quiet and I'd have more time to blog. Obviously, I thought wrong because I am busier than ever and it's not only because of Christmas coming up. Luckily for me, I got all the Christmas presents at the beginning of this month and I sent my mom's parcel just in time - the USPS wanted $92 for a regular sized and not too heavy parcel. Quite rude, I think.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>But the actual big news came on December 11th. First, I only got a cryptic text without much information and slowly but surely, I got more details. In the beginning, I didn't really want to believe it, I became rather careful with news like that but now I can officially share it with you (the papers are already printed and signed): We are moving back to Germany! And it will already happen in April. I have no idea why everything happened so quickly and (almost) without issues but for some reason, the US Army wasn't a bunch of idiots and had an opening in Vilseck. And that's where we will go. If we will live in Vilseck or in one of the towns nearby, we don't know it yet, it's too early to think of it anyways. However, I thought about job possibilties and I think I am going to commute to Nuremberg. My college will continue as usual, right now I am trying to get some more information on how it will change or not but my university is rather slow and after one week of waiting, I received an email with the content that they sent my request to another department and they are going to contact me soon. I guess this won't happen before January. Fortunately, we already have all forms and checklists ready for transporting our animals and our car, so there won't be any stress with these things. I found out that we can ship our car from Dallas instead of driving all the way down to Corpus Christi. Now it is just about saving up a bunch, so we can transport the pets - those transport kennels aren't cheap, not to mention the flight prices.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Nevertheless, I am stoked to go back "home" and stay there for 3 to 4 years but honestly, I am going to miss a couple things (especially our house) here in the US.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<i>It just doesn't get winter-y here. However, I can finally see that our surrounding looks like autumn which is a tiny progress. Today is St. Nikolaus (Happy St. Nikolaus ♥) and I prepared little Nikolaus bags with German chocolate. The German bakery here got rich by my purchases since I left $53 there, just for chocolate. I would've never dreamt that I would ever spend that much on solemnly chocolate when I was still in Germany. But for my Nikolaus day, I needed German chocolate because I just don't like the American one. Everything has such a weird after taste.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>I got a little parcel with St. Nikolaus gifts from my mom a while ago and I got cozy "sockboots" for my ever-cold feet (despite tropical tempertures). They have tiny, cute pompoms on the side which the dogs love quite a bit too much.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Yesterday, the temperatures were pretty decent so I decided to take my outfit photos outside. I really prefer doing it outside anyways, the light is better and it has a whole different flair than just standing inside in front of a wall and trying to work it out the best you can.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>I hope you have a lovely St. Nikolaus day (if you celebrate) - did you get something special?</i></div>
