Lush Dark Angels, Tea Tree Water & Vanishing Cream

Umzuege bedeuten Stress. Und leider bin ich eine der Ungluecklichen, deren Haut sehr sensibel auf Stress reagiert. Kurzum: Ich verwandele mich hauttechnisch in einen Teenager, der mitten in der Pubertaet steckt und dessen Hormone komplett durchdrehen. Dazu kommt noch, dass ich vor etwa zwei Jahren den positiven Reviews von Proactive geglaubt habe und somit meine Haut ruiniert habe. Seitdem ich Proactiv genutzt habe wurde meine Haut immer trockener und kurz darauf sehr, sehr oelig. Haette ich damals die Inhaltsstoffe gelesen, waere mir das schon vorher klar gewesen. Aber hinterher ist man immer schlauer. Nun hiess es also Abhilfe schaffen. Je laenger wir im Umzugsstress stecken, desto schlimmer wurde meine Haut, die Tatsache, dass wir in den letzten Zuegen des Umzugs auch nur Fast Food essen konnten (weil wir eben fast einen Monat lang keine Kueche hatten), hat das ganze auch noch verschlimmert. Ich kann euch gar nicht sagen, wieviele Hautpflegemittel ich getestet habe - und trotzdem war nie das Richtige dabei. Selbst Burt's Bees (mein Allzeitfavorit in Sachen Lippenpflege) konnte da nichts retten. Bis ich in Oklahoma City zur Penn Square Mall gegangen bin und bei Lush landete. Lush war fuer mich immer nur "der Seifenshop" und damals in Oldenburg war ich nur einmal dort und bin ernuechternd wieder gegangen, weil wir keine Badewanne im Haus haben und dort groesstenteils nur bath bombs verkauft wurden. Diesmal war es aber anders: Ich wurde gleich von einem netten Kerl begruesst, der sich meine Sorgen und Anliegen anhoerte und schon sass ich auf einem Hocker und wurde rundum beraten und durfte alles Moegliche testen. Letztendlich habe ich mich fuer den Cleanser Dark Angels (allerdings nicht die Seifenform - ich mag das quietschige Gefuehl nicht) und den Toner Tea Tree Water entschieden. Dazu bekam ich noch eine Probengroesse von der Vanishing Cream geschenkt, weil ich das Produkt gerne mochte, aber es nur den groessten Pott gab und in unserem Gepaeck wirklich absolut kein Platz mehr fuer die kleinste Kleinigkeit war.

Nun sind 4 Wochen vergangen und meine Haut ist fast wieder im Normalzustand. Jeden Morgen habe ich mein Gesicht normal mit Seife gewaschen und danach das Tea Tree Water aufgesprueht. Danach wurde die Vanishing Cream (die ueberigens sehr gut nach Lavendel riecht) aufgetragen und das war es auch schon. Abends habe ich dann nach dem Waschen mit Seife Dark Angels benutzt, gefolgt vom Tea Tree Water und der Vanishing Cream. Das Einzig negative, was ich zu berichten habe (und das ist eigentlich nicht wirklich negativ), ist, dass es bei Dark Angels sehr "messy" zugeht. Nicht nur meine Haende und mein Gesicht waren schwarz (was fuer verwunderte/amuesierte Blicke seitens meines Mannes sorgte), sondern auch das Waschbecken oder die Dusche. Das waescht sich aber alles sehr leicht wieder ab.

Im Grossen und Ganzen empfehle ich diese Produkte auf jeden Fall weiter, besonders fuer die Leser, die wie ich unter Hautunreinheiten und sensibler/oeliger Haut leidern.

Moving means stress. And I'm one of those unlucky girls whose skin reacts extremely sensitive to stress. Long story short: Skin wise, I turn into a teenager who hit the peak of puberty and whose hormones are going crazy. Furthermore, two years ago I trusted the positive reviews for Proactiv and completely ruined my skin with it. Since I used Proactiv, my skin got drier and drier and eventually produced so much oil that I was  shiny all day long, no matter what powder with matte effect I used. Had I read the ingredients before I used Proactiv, I should've known. But you're always wiser afterwards. Now I had to find something to rescue my skin. The more we were stuck in our moving stress, the more trouble I had with my skin and the fact that we could only eat Fast Food for almost 4 weeks (due to the fact that we had no kitchen) wasn't helping at all. I can't tell you how many cleansing systems I tested - nothing worked. Even Burt's Bees (my all time favourite when it comes to lip balms) failed on my skin. And then I went to Lush in Oklahoma City at the Penn Square Mall. Lush has always been "the soap shop" for me and a few years ago, I went to their store in Oldenburg and only found their bath bombs. This time it was different: I was greeted immediately by a lovely employee who listened to my sorrows and problems and placed me on a little chair so that I could try all the products while he gave me information and advice about everything. In the end, I opted for the cleanser Dark Angels (not the soap bar though, I can't stand the squeaky feeling afterwards), the toner Tea Tree Water. As an addition, they gave me a little sample sized pot of the Vanishing Cream for free because I loved the product but they only had the biggest sized pot in store and there was no room for the tiniest things in our suitcases anymore.

Now, 4 weeks have passed and my skin is pretty much back to normal. Every morning, I washed my face with normal soap, sprayed the Tea Tree Water on it, let it dry and then moisturized my face with the Vanishing Cream (which smells really amazing like lavender). In the evening, I washed my face with soap, used Dark Angels and afterwards the Tea Tree Water and the Vanishing Cream again. The only negative thing that I have to say (which isn't really that negative) is, that when you use Dark Angels, it gets very messy. Not only my face and hands are black (which leads to wondering/amused looks from my husband) but also the sink/the shower is sprinkled with tiny black spots. It cleans off very easily though.

Overall, I definitely recommend these products, especially for people like me who suffer from blemishes and sensitive/oily skin.

Rimmel London - Kate Moss Collection No 09

Diesen Sommer habe ich meine Leidenschaft fuer Lippenstifte entdeckt. Natuerlich bin ich noch ein kompletter Laie und muss erst noch herausfinden welche Farbe mir steht und welche Lippenstiftmarken am Besten sind. Da ich sowieso kein Beautyguru bin, sind Drogeriemarkt-Lippenstifte eher mein Ding als die Teuren von beispielsweise MAC. Nun ist es aber so, dass dann die Qualitaet oft zu wuenschen uebrig laesst.
Im spaeten Fruehjahr kam dann die Kate Moss Collection von Rimmel London hier in den USA an und ich hatte mir zwei Lippenstifte zum Testen gekauft. Beide habe ich fuer gut befunden, allerdings war ich von den Farben nicht wirklich angetan. Der Eine hatte die exakte Farbe meiner Lippen, man konnte also nichts sehen; der Andere hat mich zwar farblich ueberzeugt, ist aber eher was fuer die Sommermonate. Daher musste also ein neuer, dunklerer Lippenstift her, der auch in die kuehleren Monate passt. Ich habe zwar einen relativ schoenen dunkelroten Lippenstift von P2 (100 Oxford Street), welchen ich noch in Deutschland gekauft hatte, aber leider ist Tragedauer nur von kurzer Zeit.
Auf meiner Suche fuendig geworden bin ich mal wieder bei Ulta. Dort hatten sie naemlich einen Aufsteller mit einer groesseren Auswahl der Kate Moss Collection und somit habe ich fleissig auf meinen Handruecken drauflosgeswacht. Entschieden habe ich mich fuer No 09 - ein etwas hellerer Bordeauxton. Dieser Lippenstift wurde nun auch schon fleissig getragen und ich bin begeistert. Er haelt stundenlang, die Farbe verblasst nicht, ich kann damit Essen und Trinken und muesste ihn danach eigentlich nicht noch einmal auftragen - mache ich aber manchmal trotzdem, um die Farbe einfach zu intensivieren - und er trocknet die Lippen nicht aus. Ein weiteres Plus ist der Preis, denn fuer rund $6 bekommt man schon einen qualitativ guten Lippenstift. Ich habe mein Auge schon auf eine weitere Farbe geworfen, die wohl bald in meinen Besitz wandern wird.

This summer, I discovered my passion for lipsticks. Since I'm a complete beginner in this field, I still have to find the shades that suit me and which brands are the best out of the wide lipstick variety. However, I am not a beauty guru and therefore I prefer drugstore brands over expensive brands like MAC. The problem with drugstore brands is the quality - sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes you get more. This late spring season, the Rimmel London Kate Moss Collection arrived here in the US and I went and bought two lipsticks to try them out. I liked both, however I was not a big fan of the shades. One had the exact same shade like my natural lip colour, so you couldn't really see anything; the other one had a nice shade but it only fits to the summer months. For that reason, I needed a new, darker lipstick which also matches the cooler temperatures. I already own a beautiful dark red lipstick from P2 (100 Oxford Street) which I bought when I was still in Germany but the problem with this one is, it needs to be touched up all the time.
My quest ended at Ulta - again. They had a display with a bigger selection of the Kate Moss Collection and naturally, I swatched the shades on the back of my hand like a crazy person. In the end, I decided to buy shade No 9 - a little lighter but rich burgundy. Since I bought the lipstick, I wore it all the time and I am in love. The colour stays there for hours, it stays rich, I can eat and drink and wouldn't really have to touch it up again - I still do it to intensify the colour again - and it doesn't dry out your lips. Another plus is the price: You get a lipstick with great quality for $6. I already have another shade in mind that I'd like to buy soon.
