Vor einigen Monaten beschloss mein altes HTC Handy den Geist aufzugeben. Somit war es Zeit fuer ein Upgrade und ein neues Handy. Seitdem gehoere ich nun auch zu den iPhone-Menschen und moechte dieses Handy nicht mehr missen. Allerdings habe ich mich fuer das altere 4S Modell statt dem - meiner Meinung nach sehr unhandlichen - iPhone 5 entschieden und werde durch und durch bestaetigt in meiner Wahl. Nur habe ich ein Problem: Die Empfindlichkeit des iPhones. Ich gehe zwar sehr sorgsam damit um und habe auch gleich mehrere Screen protectors auf Vorrat gekauft, aber das war es schon. Eine schoene, aber schuetzende Huelle muss her. Leider ist hier die Auswahl unheimlich gross und man wird foermlich erschlagen mit den Huellen, die oftmals doch sehr billig und kitschig aussehen. Zuviel Geglitzer hier, zuviele kreischende Neonfarben dort. Es gibt zwar auch Huellen, die das Handy wirklich schuetzen - sogenannte otter boxes - aber die sehen einfach sehr klobig und unhandlich aus. Ich mag es eher schlicht, aber dennoch auffaellig - wenn das Sinn macht. Allerdings moechte ich auch keine Unmengen von Geld bezahlen, wenn die Langlebigkeit der Huellen nicht garantiert ist und somit bleibe ich meist bei Herstellern aus China haengen. Die Versandzeit betraegt hier zwar etwa 3 bis 4 Wochen, aber dafuer bezahlt man fuer die Huellen auch maximal $2 und der Versand ist bei einigen Herstellern sogar kostenfrei. Bei diesen Konditionen wartet man dann doch gerne etwas laenger. Letztens war ich in Austin in der Barton Creek Mall und habe einige Huellen, die auf Amazon angeboten wurden in den Displays der Handyhuellenstaende entdeckt. Prompt habe ich nachgefragt wie teuer diese und jene Huelle denn waere und ich war geschockt. Fuer die gleiche Huelle, die ich bei Amazon fuer $1 gesehen habe, wollten diese Menschen $27 haben. Ihr koennt euch sicher denken, wie ich mich dann entschieden habe.

Hier zeige ich euch nun einige Huellen, die mir persoenlich sehr gut gefallen und die ich mir, zumindest einige, auch kaufen werde.

Habt ihr auch so ein "Huellenproblem" wie ich? Oder geht ihr gar huellenlos umher?

A few months ago, my old HTC phone decided to fall into its pieces. Naturally, it was time for an upgrade and a new phone. Since that day, I am a member of the iPhone humans and I really don't want to miss this mobile phone. However, I went for the older 4S model insetad of the - in my opinion very unpractical - iPhone 5 and I don't regret this decision. My only problem is the sensitivity of the iPhone. I am already very careful with it and I bought dozens of screen protectors in bulk but that's about it. A pretty but protective case has to be bought. Unfortunately, the selection is unbelievably wide and you get clobbered over the head with cases which often look cheap and tacky. Too much glitter here, too many blinding neon colours there. There are cases that really protect your phone - the otter boxes - but let's be honest: they are not very pretty and rather unhandy. I prefer it to be simple, yet eye catching - if this makes sense. On the other hand, I don't want to spend a fortune on it when it's not guaranteed that the cases will survive a couple damages and that's why I usually be stuck with sellers from China. The delivery time is usually 3 to 4 weeks but you also pay a maximum of $2 for a case and sometimes, they don't even charge shipping fees. With these conditions, I'd love to wait a few more weeks than usual. A few days ago, I went to the Barton Creek Mall in Austin and saw that they offered the same cases from Amazon in their little mobile phone stands. I asked about the prices for several cases and I was shocked. They wanted $27 for the same case that I saw on Amazon for $1. I guess you already know how I decided.
